Practical information

The 3^rd "Journées" Terahertz will take place in Aussois at the CNRS centre Paul Langevin. Perfectly situated in the heart of Vanoise massif, in exceptional surroundings, Aussois is a little Savoyard village located 1500 m above sea level. Facing south, at the bottom of Dent Parrachée (one of the highest summits of Vanoise massif, 3697 m above sea level), Aussois is an outstanding belvedere on the whole massif. Ideal departure for hike during summer, it is also a winter sports resort with ski runs rising up to 2650 m above sea level.



For your accomodation, you have hotels of different categories listed in the table hereafter. However, as the total amount of tourist accomodation of the village is limited, we suggest to you to make your reservation as soon as possible.

To reach Aussois, the best solution consists in taking the train. A direct rail link by TGV from Paris allows to join Modane in 4 hours, located 10 km far from Aussois village. For departures from others towns, it is recommended to join Modane via Chambéry which can be reached either by train or by aeroplane from the Bourget du Lac airport (in the neighbourhood of Chambéry) or Saint-Exupéry airport (Lyon). It is also possible to reach Aussois by car.

A special bus link will be provided between the station of Modane and the centre Paul Langevin in Aussois. For the outward journey, the bus will leave Modane at 15h15 after the arrival of TER 83312 & 83313. For the return journey, two timetables are planned, the first one at the beginning of the morning for people who would like to take the TGV 9240 leaving Modane at 9h40, the second one at the end of the afternoon for people who wish to go skiing. This second shuttle will allow people to take the TGV 6412 at 16h22.
